When my youngest son started preschool, a friend called and asked if I was interested in a little bit of work, maybe five hours a week. The schedule was flexible and I could work while he was in school. I had no idea that more than 12 years later, I’d still be working as part of the team. Throughout my tenure with Rocky Mountain Mortgage and then Mountain West Mortgage, I’ve been fortunate to work as support for nearly every group. Starting as Julie Mackay’s marketing assistant, I added offering loan support for the Asbell team before moving on to be the receptionist and marketing support for the entire office. When I decided to go back to school to earn my Bachelor’s degree, I was able to reduce my hours and change positions within the company to become the Marketing Coordinator (helping with marketing projects as well as organizing and overseeing client events). These days, I’m assistant to the branch manager in addition to Marketing Coordinator. I love being part of an organization that seeks to make clients for life, not just the loan.
On a personal note, I’m a mother to 4, have been married for nearly 30 years, and can’t wait to finally finish my degree and not have homework (it’s been a LONG five years). I grew up in the Philadelphia area and can’t get enough of my teams, even when they’re dismal (which is most of the time). For eight years, I’ve volunteered as part of the production team in our local elementary school’s musical and love going to touring Broadway shows. I have a great life and a messy house; maybe the chaos stems from being tear gassed at the Washington Monument when I was four. Who knows?
